Over the past few years, I’ve started an online business, shifted my career path to work remotely, and launched several side hustles. It’s all been possible because of one major mindset – an entrepreneurial one!
Many people that I’ve talked to don’t know how to get started making money. They see the possibilities, but they just don’t know where to start. It’s easy to make money… the hard part is knowing where each dollar should go. You need to learn how to look at your business as an investment, and explore your financial responsibility as a business owner. This framework and mindset will help you position yourself to achieve financial success in your business.
Here are a few practical, tangible ways to implement this powerful mindset to actually help you produce what you want in your business.
First off – believe that it is easy to make money! If you believe that it’s impossible to make money, it will be hard. So, why not believe the opposite? I know it sounds simple enough. And it is. I spend time every day working toward the goals that I’ve set for myself, and when I work toward them in a way that leverages my abilities to the maximum, then it’s easy to make money. If I didn’t expect myself to make money, and if I didn’t believe it would be easy for me to make money, then it wouldn’t be. Believe in yourself!
Spend less – and invest more. When we spend money on a breakfast out, a clothing subscription, a new chair, whatever it may be, that money is gone. It doesn’t come back.
However, when we invest money in our business for assets that will help us grow and make more money down the road, this investment will pay off. In the best possible scenario, not only will our initial investment be paid off, but it will bring more money in to cover it’s expense AND more!
Lastly, I have seen new entrepreneurs under-pricing out of fear that their services are not valid in the market. This does not make business sense! It will still take you just as much time to deliver a service when it is under-priced, but your bank account will suffer. The successful entrepreneur sees value in his or her work or service and determines why they would be willing to pay that amount. They then provide that same value to others, creating loyal clients that remain with them for years because they recognize the value in what they offer.
