Newsflash
Filing an extension for your taxes is NOT an extension to pay!
A client told me the other day that she heard that "you were better off filing an extension."
Yea, if you actually need to, but people think that means you can wait until September or October to pay your tax liability. Nope.
Filing an extension gets you an extra 6 months to file your tax return, but the IRS still expects you to pay your estimated tax liability by April 15th if you don't want to incur taxes and penalties!
Many people don't realize this or are misinformed. Pass it on if you know someone that would benefit from this info!
