The 2 biggest factors to a financially struggling business that I see are nothing to do with money at all and yet, they are everything:

Lack of vision and/or lack of clear communication.

🙈 Lack of vision will inherently cause financial issues because you don’t even know where you want to go, so you’re likely very inefficient which means your money is, too.

🎳 Policies and procedures are important because they enhance communication and put bumpers in place to control the movement of money.

🔊Routine team meetings to communicate the vision, reinforce policies and helping people see where they matter in the big scheme is so important. People want to see why they matter.

That last part was a big reason I left my job - I didn’t see where I mattered.
When the people connected to the vision and have channels to communicate, they’re much more likely to manage resources more effectively like you would as a business owner.
They’re more likely to be good stewards.
If money isn’t what you think it should be, is your vision clear? Does your team know what they’re working for? Do you have controls in place to make sure you know where your money is coming and going?
