Accounting is the language of business

If you can't interpret, or have someone that helps you make sense of it, you're not going to get far.

Even a well-intentioned bookkeeper will only get you so far. It's not about just recording transactions, it's about understanding the story the numbers are telling you - being able to read between the lines.

It's being able to read into the operating efficiency of your business by looking at cash flows and the income statement.

Or being able to see missing assets and liabilities, and key insight into your business by looking just at the bank account transactions.

In the same way that we use different languages to express ourselves each day, the outcome of business functions is expressed through the language of accounting.
